Fukunaga Scholarship Foundation
The Fukunaga Scholarship offers ten $16,000 awards to high school seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who are enrolling in an accredited four year college or university to major in Business Administration and other related fields of study. Applicants must mail the completed four page application accompanied by the SAR as well as transcripts reflecting a current GPA, SAT scores and two letters of recommendation. The Applicant must be a resident to the state of Hawaii and have plans to return there after graduation to live and work in order to give back to the community. The scholarship deadline is February 19, 2017.
Henry & Joyce W. Sumid Scholarship
This scholarship offers need-based $5,000 scholarships to Hawaii seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0 interested in studying theater arts. Candidates must complete an application packet that contains extensive financial documentation of need. Along with an SAR, students should create a portfolio of information about relevant savings and other money that may be used toward the cost of attendance. Also, a 500 word essay about why the scholarship is deserved and three letters of recommendation – one of which must be from the theater instructor at school. Hawaii Education Association
The Hawaii Education Association offers two $3,000 Student Teacher Scholarships for its members, and their immediate children and grandchildren who are majoring in education and who are student teachers. The scholarship is also available to graduate students. Candidates must submit an application form, official transcripts and a personal essay that details the applicants reasons for electing to become an educator as well as relevant experiences related to teaching and the classroom. Also, any related activities and volunteer work should be detailed on a resume. The scholarship deadline is April 1, 2017.
Medical Group Management Association Western Section Scholarship
This opportunity features one award of $2,500 available to undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in a medical school or program for medical management at an accredited four year institution of higher education. Students must be from one of several western states including Hawaii. Applicants must fill out an application and submit all the supporting details required. The scholarship deadline is May 1, 2017. This is a fund that offers three scholarships of $1,000 each to high school juniors and seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who are planning to enroll full-time at an accredited college or university to specialize in hotel management. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of Hawaii. Students must submit the completed application with transcripts reflecting a current GPA as well as an autobiography, career goals and a recommendation. The scholarship deadline is July 1, 2017.
