Arizona CPA Foundation High School Scholarship

This opportunity awards a $500 scholarship to three high school seniors who are enrolling full-time in a college, university or a community college in Arizona to pursue a degree in accounting. Students must complete an application and submit official high school transcripts. In addition to the above, the application package should include a letter of recommendation and a personal essay describing themselves and their contributions to their community, their academic and career goals and how the degree will enable them to give back to the community. The application deadline is February 5, 2017.

Henry & Joyce W. Sumid Scholarship

This scholarship offers $5,000 need-based award to high school as well as undergraduate and graduate students who are majoring in theater and the arts. Applicants must be residents of Arizona. Candidates must verify financial status by submitting the SAR. Included in the qualification package should be a 500 word essay articulating why the applicant deserves to receive the scholarship, three letters of recommendation and a copy of course transcripts reflecting a minimum GPA of 3.0. There are unique portfolio exhibition pieces required for the five distinct genres of Acting, Designing, Directing, Technicians, and Playwrights. The application deadline is April 30, 2017. Italian Catholic Federation First Year Scholarship

Presented by the Italian Catholic Federation, this award offers two-hundred $1,000 renewable scholarships to high school students who are intending to pursue a college education. Applicants must be from Arizona and living only in areas where the Federation is established. Candidates must be Roman Catholic; however, Italian heritage is not required in certain circumstances. Candidates will present a completed application, a transcript reflecting a minimum GPA of 3.2, demonstration of leadership roles, a letter of recommendation, a resume of volunteer work and other extracurricular activities, as well as any information regarding I.C.F. membership and or activities. The scholarship deadline is March 15, 2017.

Dr. Patti Flint -Women in Science Scholarship

Here is a $2,500 award to assist women in Arizona pursuing a degree in hard sciences which are qualified as Medicine, Healthcare, Physics, Pharmacology, Biology, or Chemistry. The scholarship recipient must plan to enroll in an Arizona college or university; however, a successful candidate can be either a traditional or non-traditional student. A complete application package will contain official and current school transcripts, a letter of recommendation, and either a personalized video or a completed questionnaire. National Society of High School Scholars Foundation

Tesoro Youth Leadership Awards,  presented by Tesoro Companies, Inc., offers twenty $2,500 need-based awards to high school seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Students must be residents of one of eighteen states or  Arizona. Successful candidates will prepare a 500 word expository essay on their own personal leadership skills, submit course transcripts, with a detailed history of any extra-curricular activities, employment, honors, awards, and volunteer work as well as the Tesoro Financial Need Form.
