Banatao Family Filipino American Education Fund

This fund offers five renewable $5,000 scholarships to high school seniors intending to enroll full-time at an accredited four-year institution of higher education and major within the areas of engineering, mathematics, physics, computer and environmental sciences. However, this is not serving those seeking out professions in health care.  Applicants must be at least 50% Filipino and live in specific California counties. As well, students are required to demonstrate financial need. Candidates should submit a completed application form, current transcripts, two letters of recommendation and a resume outlining experiences at school, work, and and while volunteering. California Association of Collectors Educational Scholarship Foundation

This foundation offers three $2,500 scholarships to high school seniors who are intending to enroll in an accredited four-year institution of higher education. Entrants must submit a completed application and prepare a well-written, highly engaging 700 – 1,000 word essay entitled “Importance of Establishing and Maintaining Good Financial Credit During Your College Years.” The deadline for the scholarship is January 20, 2017. Coastwise Prize for Investing Excellence

This offers five bi-annual awards of $5,000 to sophomore, junior, and senior students who are enrolled at La Jolla High School, La Jolla Country Day, The Bishop’s School, and The Preuss School. Entrants must prepare a 1,000 word essay which will be judged on originality and intellectual content, topic relevance, passion for the subject matter and presentation. Dorothy and Robert DeBolt Scholarship

In collaboration with Lilliput, this opportunity offers one $3,000 scholarship to an up and coming youth who was adopted from California foster care and who is pursuing an education at an accredited, traditional institution of higher education or vocational school. To be eligible, the applicant must be a resident of California, provide proof adoption, demonstrate acceptance to an accredited school and be 25 years of age or younger. Candidates should submit an application form, two references, a resume of academic, extra-curricular and volunteer work, the SAR, verification of foster care and adoption status, acceptance letter for the school to be attended and official transcripts as well as a recent photo. Growing Up Asian in America Art & Essay Contest

This art and written contest offers six prizes of $1,000 to students grade k-12 in nine counties across the San Francisco Bay area. Based on an annually announce theme, students competitively submit art work, videos and writing pieces to be judged.
