Chick-fil-A is a fast food restaurant chain that has its headquarters near Atlanta, Georgia and specializes in chicken sandwiches. The chain was founded in 1946 by S. Truett Cathy, the company’s former Chairman and CEO, when he opened a restaurant in Hapeville, Georgia. After his fast food restaurant was in business for close to 15 years, he changed his cooking style when he found a pressure-fryer that could cook the chicken sandwich in the same amount of time as a hamburger from a competitor would take. It was at this point that he registered the name Chick-fil-A.
