Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship offers a need-based renewable award with a maximum gift of $18,000 to achieving college students who show strong work ethic, leadership qualities and commitment to community service. Students must intend to or already be enrolled in a four-year accredited program of study.  Also, applicants are required to be a U.S. citizen or a legal resident and eligible to apply for Federal Aid. Candidates should submit an online application, transcripts reflecting a minimum GPA of 3.0 as well as a demanding course of study and exhibit excellent writing skills. The scholarship deadline is May 2, 2017.

Tall Clubs International Student Scholarships

This opportunity offers $1,000 awards to seniors enrolling in an accredited college or university in the U.S., who are under the age of 21 and meet the barefoot measurement of 5’10 and 6’2 requirement for women and men respectively. Eligibility is made by appointment only sought through a member of the TCI chapter nearest you. The scholarship deadline is May 1, 2017. You can find more information online.

Tryumph Foundation Scholarship

The Tryumph Foundation Scholarship offers three awards of $1,000 to Massachusetts seniors who are planning to enroll in an accredited two or four-year college or university and who has a resume reflecting a minimum of 100 hours of community and volunteer service. Applicants should submit a 400 – 500 word essay reflecting on volunteerism as an integral part of life and its importance to not only the person volunteering but the community benefitting. Also, a letter of recommendation from the volunteer coordinator where the service took place and a college acceptance letter are required. The application deadline is January 30, 2017.

Valley Press Club Scholarship

This scholarship offers five $1,000 awards to western Massachusetts students intending to enroll in an accredited college or university to major in journalism. The awards are designated for the print, broadcast, sports, and photo journalism. Students should submit a completed application with the FAFSA and other supporting financial documents, a transcript, a letter of recommendation and up to three original journalistic writing portfolio pieces. The scholarship deadline is April 1, 2017.

TFI (TJX) Children’s Scholarship

Presented by the Warrior thunder Foundation, this children’s scholarship offers one $1,000 award to students who are the children of honorably discharged U.S. veterans from any branch of the military. Applicants must complete an online application, a short resume of activities including volunteering, athletics, honors and awards. Also, an essay describing how the scholarship will help the recipient to serve the Nation and community or provide assistance to the U.S. military or Veterans.
