Account Control Technology Cares Community Scholarship Program

The Account Control Technology Cares Scholarship offers 25 $1,000 awards to high school seniors from Clermont, Hamilton or Warren counties who plan to enroll full-time in an accredited four-year college or university. Students should submit a completed application along with transcripts to Scholarship Managements Services. Recipients are selected based on academic record, leadership skills, and participation in extra-curricular activities as well as volunteerism. All candidates must demonstrate financial need to be considered. The scholarship deadline is March 15, 2017.  You can find more information online.

Adult Students in Scholastic Transition (EWI of Columbus)

The Adult Students Scholastic offers awards up to $2,000 to non-traditional students, at least 18 years of age, and in an educational/professional transition from Pickaway Franklin, Licking, Fairfield, Union, Madison or Delaware counties. Applicants must demonstrate defined career goals and objectives with clear strategies on how to accomplish the goals. Applicants must use the re-entry program made available through the school or other community agencies and services. The scholarship deadline is April 1, 2017. You can find more information online.

Beat The Odds Program

Presented by the Children’s Defense Fund of Ohio, the Beat the Odds program offers five $5,000 awards, a laptop computer, invitations to the Children’s Defense Fund’s youth leadership programs and other support throughout the college experience. Candidates must be a current Ohio high school junior who was nominated by a teacher(students can request to be nominated), counselor, caseworker, or another adult able to attest to the candidate’s life challenges such as but not limited to abuse, poverty, disability or homelessness. Candidates should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate participation in extra-curricular activities or community organizations.  The scholarship deadline is updated annually on the website. Botkins Community Fund Scholarship

Botkins Community Fund offers two $2,500 awards to Botkins High School (Shelby County, Ohio) seniors with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and who are planning to enroll full-time in an accredited two or four-year college or university. Candidates should submit a completed application, transcripts, resume of activities, and letters of recommendation. Recipients are selected based on financial need, academic performance, and community involvement. The scholarship deadline is April 15, 2016. You can find more information online.

University Journalism Scholarship

Presented by the Ohio Newspaper Associate, the University Journalism Scholarship offers three $1,500 awards to Ohio college or university students majoring in journalism, advertising, marketing or communications. Candidates must be a currently enrolled sophomore, junior, or senior at an accredited Ohio institution of higher education with a minimum GPA of 2.5. To be considered, students should submit a completed application, transcripts, a resume of activities that highlights items pertinent to journalism along with two letters of recommendation, a 750 -1000 word autobiography as well as a portfolio of exemplary or currently published pieces of writing.
