Maximum Independence Scholarship

Presented by Goodwill Industries of Southwest Oklahoma and North Texas, Inc., the Maximum Independence Scholarship offers fifteen $1,000 scholarships to high school senior from the counties of Caddo, Comanche, Cotton, Grady, Freer, Harmon, Jackson, Jefferson, Kiowa, Stephens, and Tillman. Candidates must be enrolling full-time at an accredited vocational-technical or trade school or in a college certificate or degree program. Applicants should submit a completed application along with transcripts, a personal essay, letters of recommendation, proof of volunteerism, and have a demonstrable financial need or a documented disability. Recipients must participate in the Goodwill Ambassador Program. The scholarship deadline is March 18, 2016.

Oklahoma Future Teachers Scholarship Program

The OK Future Teachers Scholarship offers up to $1,500 awards to academically competitive high school seniors planning to attend an accredited Oklahoma college or university with the intent to become a teacher. Applicants must have graduated in the top 15% of their class as well as have earned ACT or SAT scores ranking in the top 15th percentile. The scholarship is open to part or full-time students with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Applicants will be nominated by the colleges to which they apply, and recipients must work in a teacher shortage area for at least three consecutive years after post-graduation. The scholarship deadline is updated annually on the website.

Osage Nation Higher Education Scholarship

This program offers renewable awards to students of Osage Nation who are enrolling in a two or four-year or Graduate program of study. Candidates must create an online profile at https://tr.scholarshipamerica.org/osage where a completed application should be submitted along with transcripts reflecting a minimum GPA of 2.0, as well as all other required financial documentation such as the Education Hardship Form. The award is intended to fill financial gaps after federal, and other aid has been exhausted. The scholarship deadline is May 11, 2016.

 The Jimmie L. Dean Foundation Scholarship

The Dean Foundation Scholarship offers renewable awards up to $10,000 to competitive high school seniors who are residents of Oklahoma, who plan to attend an accredited Oklahoma college or university, and who are planning to stay in Oklahoma after graduation. Candidates should submit a completed application, transcripts, GPA, ACT (score not less than 20 will be accepted) or SAT scores, a letter of recommendation will be requested if the candidate makes the initial review round. The scholarship deadline is April 15, 2016.

Women of the South Primary Provider Scholarship

The South Primary Provider Scholarship offers a renewable $2,000 scholarship to high school seniors from Capital Hill, Southeast, U.S. Grant, Westmoore, Moore, South Moore, Western Heights and Sante Fe South High schools. Students must plan to attend an accredited college within the state of Oklahoma. Candidates should submit a completed application, two letters of recommendation, a resume of honors and activities and a statement of financial need and transcripts reflecting a minimum GPA of 2.5. Applicants have to demonstrate they are the primary family provider. The scholarship deadline is February 28, 2017.
