Grieg Lodge Academic Scholarship

This academic program offers fifteen $1,500 awards to students from Multnomah, Clackamas, Washington, Yamhill and Columbia counties who either have a connection to or interest in the Scandinavian heritages. Candidates must submit a completed application, transcripts, and an essay detailing connections to the culture and its people. Since the Fund’s founding in 1976, its mission has been to provide opportunities for applicants to pursue exchange opportunities between the US and Norway, to promote the study of music, literature art, and history, and pursue intellectual advancement in all areas. Oregon Barbers and Hairdresser’s Grant

This opportunity is available to students who are enrolled full-time in a licensed school of barbering, hair design, or cosmetology. The institution is required to be on the list of those participating in Title IV federal aid programs and Barbers and Hairdressers Grant Program. Candidates should submit a completed FAFSA with the intended school listed on it. There is no other application for the Grant. The scholarship deadline is February 1, 2017. Oregon Chafee Education and Training Grant

The Oregon Chafee Education and Training Grant offers $3,500 awards to students who are currently in foster care or had been in foster care for six months after turning the age of 14 and exited substitute care at the minimum age of 16. Students are required to participate in the voucher program. Candidates must submit a completed FAFSA and any other required financial documentation to be considered. No other particular forms are needed for the application process. Selected students will be notified by OSAC. The scholarship deadline is updated annually. You can find more information online.

Oregon Ford ReStart Program

The OR Ford ReStart Program offers 46 need-based scholarships ranging from $1,000 – $25,000 to non-traditional students at least 25 years of age. The scholarship is intended to encourage adult residents of Oregon to pursue a two or four-year degree by serving as a gap payment after all other forms of financial aid have been exhausted. Candidates must be able to demonstrate financial need through the submission of the FAFSA, provide excellent work references, or demonstrate responsibility and good parenting if the student was a stay at home parent, show a commitment to educational goals. Candidates should submit an online application and if selected must be prepared to make a convincing case for deserving the scholarship during a final interview. The scholarship deadline is March 01, 2017.

Helene M. Overly Memorial Graduate Scholarship

Presented by WTS International, the Memorial Graduate Scholarship offers a $3,500 award to a woman currently enrolled at an accredited college or university in Oregon for the purpose of pursuing a career in transportation. Candidates must submit a completed online application with transcripts reflecting a minimum GPA of 3.0, letters of recommendation, and a resume focused on transportation-related activities and employment. A well-written essay is also required. The scholarship deadline is October 21, 2016.You can find more information online.
