For more than twenty years, Wells Fargo has been working to accomplish their mission to not only meet the financial needs of their growing amount of customers but to educate and enable those customers to make fiscally savvy decisions. They pride themselves on their corporate social responsibility, specifically their determination to build strong and sustainable communities built on financially sound choices and practices. One such way they strive to realize this vision is to enable up-and-coming generations to make well-reasoned, educated, and informed financial decisions, particularly when it comes to college.
Wells Fargo is dedicated to providing high school and college students with the necessary tools to prepare for academic and financial success. Whether it’s distributing Wells Fargo student loans or educating students and families about making well-informed financial decisions throughout their collegiate journey, the company is instrumental in paving the way for college students to succeed.
One of the resources Wells Fargo specifically designed to help prepare students for their collegiate financial path is the CollegeSTEPS program. The CollegeSTEPS resource is free and available for high school and college students, parents, and guidance counselors. By enrolling in the program, students and their families can receive helpful tips about financially preparing for college. This will enable them to make educated and informed financial decisions about all their college money matters. Interested participants can also enjoy The Wells Fargo CollegeSTEPS magazine, a rich resource that will prepare students, families, and counselors to make smart and strategic decisions throughout their college planning process.
The biggest perk of the free CollegeSTEPS program is that those who enroll in the program are automatically entered into the CollegeSTEPS sweepstakes. The CollegeSTEPS sweepstakes rewards those who seek to understand and be prepared to make smart financial decisions throughout their time in college. Students have long been reaping the financial benefits of the sweepstakes as Wells Fargo has awarded $1,000,000 in prize money to high school and college students since 1998. In 2013, Wells Fargo provided 600 students with $1,000 prizes. This year’s CollegeSTEPS sweepstakes offers the chance for lucky program participants to win a $5,000 cash prize.
There will be four sweepstakes drawings from the promotional period of August 14, 2015 to June 30, 2016. During each drawing, both a high school student and college student will win a $5,000 prize. Additionally, Wells Fargo will reward twenty high school students and twenty college students with a $500 prize during all four of the sweepstake drawings. In total, Wells Fargo will award a total of 168 cash prizes to both high school and college students during the promotional period.
Students must be 14 years of age or older to be eligible for the sweepstakes. They must additionally be enrolled as either full or part-time students in an accredited secondary or postsecondary school or program. Students who enrolled in the program on or before August 13, 2015 will still be eligible for prizes as long as they were not a winner in previous CollegeSTEPS Sweepstakes. Prize drawings will occur around July 15, 2016, and winners will be notified by email.
